YMCA Northumberland’s lease agreement in Brighton has been renewed for several years.
The Y’s President and CEO Eunice Kirkpatrick talked to My Broadcasting Corporation about the importance of the renewal.
Kirkpatrick says the Y offers a lot to the residents of Brighton.
Kirkpatrick points out the lease deal brings stability in advance of the day when it’s hoped the Y in Brighton will have a place in a new complex.
A larger multi-purpose facility could accommodate expanded programming.
Kirkpatrick says having a solid base for the YMCA in Brighton is on brand for the agency’s reputation of being a community partner in fitness and outreach programs like the Mothers of Newborns.
Kirkpatrick says it’s difficult to offer these services in rural areas so having a Northumberland YMCA satellite centre in Brighton helps to make that happen.
