Brighton’s Blue Dragons have done it again, taking the title for the Bay of Quinte Championship and are now heading off to COSSA championships next week.
The East Northumberland Secondary School cross-country team took the overall team title at the Bay of Quinte Championships held at Dunnett Orchards in Brighton.
ENSS earned a total of 54 team points, with all runners contributing to the team championship, said cross-country and track and field coach Rebecca Turner. Individually, Anastasiia Syrovatska was the junior girls’ champion and Jack Turner was the junior boys’ champion, added Turner.
The Blue Dragons also took first place in three out of six divisions, including the senior girls and boys and junior boys. The novice girls and boys, as well as the junior girls, took home second-place finishes.
The Dragons head to Jackson Park in Peterborough on Wednesday, Oct. 23 for the COSSA championship.
These latest wins build on previous top-place finishes at the Gryphon Invitational, the 40th Trinity College School Harrier, and the Bay of Quinte Invitational, where ENSS also took home the overall team title with 44 points.
