The Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation is calling on the community to help with a “Christmas wish.”
The hospital needs six advanced flexible video ureteroscopes, which translates to $128,076. The cost of each scope is reported at $21,346.
With hopes the community can help, the foundation has launched its annual Christmas Wish initiative, entitled the #ScopeForHope campaign.
This equipment will support many patients who turn to TMH for vital care, note staff.
“By contributing to our Christmas Wish, you help us provide our urologists with the best tools available, like a ureteroscope, to deliver exceptional care for conditions such as kidney stones and bladder cancer,” says Lindsay Butcher Dodds, executive director of the TMH Foundation.
Staff note that these advanced tools help doctors to see inside the urinary tract with precision, enabling them to diagnose and treat conditions such as kidney stones and bladder cancer effectively.
At the cystoscopy clinic at TMH, the team provides care for an average of 30 patients daily, three days a week, translating to more than 4,000 patients annually.
Each flexible video ureteroscope plays a critical role, supporting about 200 surgeries and precision diagnoses and treatment, say staff.
“Your support can make a life-changing difference in our community.”
Due to the Canada Post strike, the foundation is also offering alternative ways to make donations, including through Interac e-transfer at info@tmhfoundation.com, by calling 613-392-2540 ext. 5401 and in-person at TMH.
