The Trenton Golden Hawks are calling on the community to help make the difference for Community Partners for Success.
On Friday (Dec. 20) night, the Hawks host the Toronto Jr. Canadiens on home ice for their last home game before the holiday break – and the organization is also hoping to help CPFS and calling on fans to do the same at tonight’s game.
“When the Hawks’ organization heard about the funding deficit that Community Partners for Success was facing, they wanted to help, and the upcoming game seemed like a great platform to raise awareness for the agency and help with their fundraising efforts,” said the team, in a recent release.
“When asked what their primary need would be other than funding, they noted a need for winter gloves and hot pouches for their clients.”
In the release, it states Community Partners for Success was earlier notified by Hastings County it will not be receiving any funding this year for resource programming in Quinte West.
Meanwhile, the Trenton Resource Centre is described as lifeline for some of the community’s most vulnerable residents, helping people through an array of services like breakfast and dinner programs, emergency food support, clothing and hygiene assistance and harm reduction/health services.
“The players and organization will be donating mittens and hot pouches for the CPFS campaign, and we are asking fans to bring the same to add to our donation. CPFS will host a raffle and have an information table to educate our fans on their importance to our Quinte West community.”
Tonight’s game starts at 7:30 p.m.
