The Coldest Night of the Year returns to Northumberland and Quinte West on February 22, 2025, with events in Cobourg, Port Hope, and Trenton.
This family-friendly fundraiser invites participants to walk, donate, and fundraise to support charities addressing homelessness, hunger, and poverty.
In Cobourg, Hope and Light Urban Outreach spearheads efforts with programs like “Loaves of Love,” providing meals and community-building art workshops. Port Hope features Greenwood Coalition and The Help Centre, which work collaboratively on housing support, harm reduction, and recovery initiatives. New this year, Trenton’s Care and Share Food Bank joins the event, continuing its 40-year legacy of food assistance in Quinte West.
The evening begins at 4 p.m. with check-ins at local venues: Church on the Hill in Cobourg, St. Paul’s Presbyterian in Port Hope, and the Care and Share office in Trenton. After opening remarks at 4:45 p.m., participants will hit the streets at 5 p.m. to complete their walks, followed by a light meal.
Funds raised through Coldest Night of the Year stay local, helping to sustain vital programs that promote dignity, wellness, and recovery. Organizers encourage everyone to register, donate, or cheer on participants.
