The $200 taxpayer rebates promised by Ontario’s Ford government are going out in the mail.
The province says the payments to eligible adults and children are aimed at addressing cost of living increases.
“With Ontario families struggling due to the federal carbon tax, high interest rates and global economic uncertainty, our government is stepping up as part of our ongoing work to keep costs down and help families make ends meet,” said Minister of Finance Peter Bethlenfalvy.
To qualify for the rebate, you must have been 18 years or older and a resident in Ontario on Dec. 31, 2023, and filed an income tax and benefits return by Dec. 31 last year.
Families who qualify for the Canada child benefit payment will receive an additional $200 for each eligible child under the age of 18.
