Northumberland Paramedics raised over $1,000 through their 2025 therapy dog calendar fundraiser, enabling them to deliver over 50 holiday meals to seniors and vulnerable community members this winter.
In partnership with Ketch’s Korner, 25 meals were distributed to Community Paramedicine clients over Christmas, with an additional 27 meals planned for Family Day week in February. Paramedic Chief Susan Brown expressed gratitude for the community’s support during the fundraiser’s first year.
“Thanks to the community’s kindness, we partnered with the generous team at Ketch’s Korner to deliver meals and friendly visits from our paramedic team,” said Brown. Therapy dog Ivy Joules, who features prominently in the calendar, also brought joy to residents. “Ivy spreads her ‘paw-sitive’ impact, one smile at a time,” Brown added.
Ketch’s Korner, known for its annual meal donations, was excited to collaborate with Northumberland Paramedics. Owner Melissa Dale reflected on how the tradition began a decade ago with a single meal delivery.
The calendar fundraiser, launched in late 2024, sold 135 copies in one month, with all profits going towards meal distribution.
Northumberland Paramedics’ Community Paramedicine program provides non-emergency, in-home care to seniors and vulnerable residents, aiming to reduce strain on local healthcare services.
