Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles vowed to fight rising costs and improve essential services during a campaign stop in Peterborough.
Stiles was joined Sunday by local NDP candidates Jen Deck (Peterborough-Kawarthas) and Bruce LePage (Northumberland—Peterborough South) as she outlined the party’s plan to support families struggling with affordability.
Her message heading into the final days of the campaign was simple.
Stiles promised to implement a Monthly Grocery Rebate to help Ontarians cope with rising food prices and pledged to introduce real rent control to close loopholes that allow landlords to raise rents unpredictably. She says life is harder now after ‘7 years of Doug Ford’.
The NDP platform also includes a $267-million investment to address school repair backlogs in Peterborough, as well as measures to expand access to affordable housing.
