Quinte Conservation has appointed Quinte West Councillor Don Kuntze as Chair of the Executive Board, following a vote at the board’s first meeting of 2025 on February 20.
Kuntze will serve a two-year term, leading conservation efforts through 2025 and 2026.
Additionally, Belleville Councillor Chris Malette was re-elected as Vice Chair, after previously serving as Board Chair from 2023 to 2024.
“Since joining Quinte Conservation in 2018, I have seen the dedication of our staff, management, and board members,” says Kuntze. “With Chris Malette at my side, I hope to educate the public, support our conservation team, and ensure the province works with us to protect our natural resources.”
During the meeting, several staff members were recognised for milestone years of service, including Tammy Smith, who marked 35 years with Quinte Conservation.
“We are incredibly grateful for our staff’s commitment,” said Brad McNevin, Chief Administrative Officer. “Their dedication is key to building a strong and sustainable ecosystem.”
