Northumberland County residents can expect to receive their 2025 War Amps key tags in the mail shortly as The War Amps celebrates a milestone – 50 years of its Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program. The CHAMP Program has long provided financial assistance for artificial limbs, peer support, and essential services to young amputees across Canada.
Each key tag features a confidentially coded number. If keys are lost, anyone finding them can either call the toll-free number on the back of the tag or drop the keys in any mailbox in Canada. The War Amps will then return the keys to their owner by courier, free of charge. This valuable service is funded entirely by public contributions, as The War Amps receives no government grants.
“This year’s mailing is a special celebration of 50 years of our CHAMP Program and the positive impact it has had on young lives,” said a spokesperson for The War Amps. “We are grateful to the community for their ongoing support, which enables us to continue providing these critical services.”
The annual key tag service not only serves a practical purpose but also stands as a testament to the organization’s commitment to supporting young amputees. For more information or to order additional key tags, residents are encouraged to visit waramps.ca or call 1-800-250-3030.
