
A Mississauga man is facing drug and weapons charges after Cobourg police responded to a suspicious persons call.
According to Cobourg police, officers were called to a business on William Street on the evening of Saturday, March 15. Upon arrival, they said they found a 39-year-old man wanted on an outstanding warrant issued by another police service.
During the man’s arrest, officers allege they discovered a small amount of schedule I drugs and a prohibited knife in his possession.
As a result of the investigation, police said the man was charged with possession of a schedule I substance and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The accused was released on an undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
