Several people are facing charges after an investigation by the East Region community street crime unit into alleged drug-trafficking in the Quinte West area, say police.
On Thursday, March 20, 2025, OPP said members of the community street crime unit, with help from the East Region tactics and rescue unit, and Quinte West OPP officers, conducted an early-morning traffic stop and executed a search warrant on Mill Street in Frankford.
Four people were arrested during the process without incident, but only three parties were charged – one individual was released without charges, reported OPP.
Officers allege they seized more than 34 grams of suspected cocaine, more than two grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, cash and other items typically associated with drug-trafficking.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 48-year-old and a 38-year-old from Quinte West were charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Another 25-year-old Quinte West resident was charged with three counts of failing to comply with a release order, said police.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
No other details were released by police.
