
John Wesselius is representing the Christian Heritage Party in Northumberland-Clarke for the 2025 federal election.
His biography notes that he has lived in Cobourg for the past seven years and spent most of his life in Bowmanville. He and his wife Trudy have been married for over 40 years, they have three adult children and seven grandchildren.
Wesselius shares more on his background.
With a 35-year career in sales, Wesselius says he understands the importance of being part of a strong organisation built on integrity and service. He has long identified with conservative values, and his decision to run came from a desire to support a party that aligns with his views on life, family and freedom.
We asked him what inspired him to run for MP.

According to the Christian Heritage Party of Canada, its platform is centred on restoring Christian values in Canadian governance, with a focus on traditional family structures, freedom of conscience and protecting life from conception.
When asked about the top three issues in the riding, Wesselius had this to say.

Wesselius says he believes Canadians deserve a political alternative that reflects these principles. The Christian Heritage Party is not currently represented in Parliament but is running candidates in several ridings across the country.
