Following an investigation into alleged threats made towards a Prince Edward County school, police say two young people are facing charges.
Prince Edward County OPP said on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at about 1:30 p.m., police received information about threats directed towards a local school. With help from the OPP’s crime unit and tactics and rescue unit, police said two search warrants were subsequently executed at two Prince Edward County locations.
On Thursday, April 24, police said as a result of the investigation, two young individuals were charged with uttering threats.
None of these charges have been proven in court. Both of the accused were initially held for bail hearings, reported OPP.
Police provided no other details, but did issue a reminder to the community, asking citizens to promptly report any threats or suspicious behaviours related to school safety. Reporting these incidents allows for immediate investigation helps maintain a secure learning environment, said police.
