East Northumberland Secondary School is inviting Brighton and area community members to be a part of the ENSS Garden of Hope project by donating to its’ Building Fund. You will be helping the school community to reach its fundraising goal of $10,000. The Municipality of Brighton has generously awarded this project a matching contribution Grant In Aid for the landscaping and finishing touches to the memory garden. The Municipal grant will be provided, up to $10,000, for all donations received by the Municipality of Brighton.
Tax receipts will be issued by the Municipality for donations of $20 or more toward the construction of the garden. Donations may be made at the Finance Department in the Brighton Municipal Office (third floor) or mailed directly to the Municipality at 35 Alice Street, Brighton, ON, K0K 1H0.
The project is nearing completion and we are eagerly awaiting the official Dedication Ceremony to be held at a later date when larger group gatherings are possible.
The ENSS Hope Project started in April 2018 by two Grade 10 students from East Northumberland Secondary School, Aidan Hussey and Max Towers. The goal of this project was to meaningfully engage high school students in raising money towards, and awareness of, cancer research in Canada and to provide some hope to all those affected by cancer through the creation of a memory garden at the front entrance of East Northumberland Secondary School.
ENSS has raised over $1.2M for the Terry Fox Foundation over the last 39 years and will continue its’ rich tradition of supporting cancer research. The impact of this project will not only be felt within ENSS, but also within the wider Brighton community.
