
News Release from CFB Trenton – July 15th
Members of 8 Air Maintenance Squadron (8 AMS) welcomed their new Commanding Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel (LCol) Adam Emond during a unique ceremony held at 8 Wing Trenton today.
LCol Emond replaces LCol Brian Tang, who had commanded the squadron for the past two years. No stranger to 8 Wing, LCol Emond served at 8 AMS from 2007 to 2010 within first line maintenance on the CC-130E/H Hercules, including deploying to Camp Mirage and Kandahar Airfield with the Tactical Airlift Unit in 2009.
LCol Emond brings with him experience from the Aerospace Engineering and Test Establishment (AETE), as flight test engineer, Experimental Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Officer, and the Senior Test Engineer. He also occupied staff positions at 1 Canadian Air Division Headquarters/Canadian NORAD Region Headquarters and the Royal Canadian Air Force Aerospace Warfare Centre Headquarters.
LCol Emond was raised in Mississauga, ON. LCol Emond holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Defence Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada. He is a graduate of the National Test Pilot School and the Canadian Armed Forces Joint Command and Staff Program. He holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
