Flags are flying at half-mast in Quinte West, as the city honours the life of former Police Chief David Saunders.
The former police chief for the City of Trenton for 21 years passed away on Saturday. He was part of the team that opened the Campney building in 1985, which has since been demolished.
He attended the opening of the time capsule in Oct. 2019 – Mayor Jim Harrison said the former police chief had many goals for Quinte West, adding that the city offers its condolences to his family and friends.
