The application period is now open, for employers that are looking to hire students through the federal government’s Canada Summer Jobs program.
MP Neil Ellis announced on Monday (Jan 4), that this year’s job opportunities have increased by 50 per cent – from 80,000 to 120,000. Applications are open until the end of the month, for local employers that have 50 or less full-time workers.
Qualifying workplaces can apply to receive a wage subsidy of up to 75 per cent for minimum wage (not-for-profit groups could get up to 100 per cent of their wages covered.) New this year, the end date for working has been extended until Feb. 26, 2022 and workers can now be hired part-time too.
