Excellent Educators Day: Elise Stoter

Oldies 100.9 news presents the Vanderlaan Building Excellent Educators Day, profiling outstanding leaders in our community.

Elise Stoter is a teacher for autism support for the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.

She says her inspiration to become an educator came from her mom, Patricia Perkin, who was a teacher in the community. Her mom always said Stoter would also be a great teacher. Stoter tried to take a different path but a tutoring job changed that.

When Stoter graduated, she started to work in London, England.

She has discovered special education and recently became part of the KPR Autism Support Team.

She says her mom continues to inspire her.

Stoter ends by saying teaching special education is truly a rewarding experience.
