Reverend Gordon Lewis is the Director of the local charity Mission of TEARS. The Mission focuses a lot of its attention to the needs of the people of Haiti. One of the ways they try to help alleviate the needs of Haitian’s is through shipping life saving materials like medicines, building supplies, tents, food and clothing.
Haiti’s earthquakes, poverty, civil unrest and disease are the catalyst for the humanitarian aid being donated. Reverend Lewis says that the charity has just shipped another cargo container bound for Port au Prince and will be leaving the port in Montreal this week. The container with life saving items will take 4-6 weeks to arrive and get to where it is needed.
Reverend Lewis says that the need in Haiti is great and the level of despair and poverty is unmatched.
