It was a chaotic day on Highway 401 yesterday with multiple accidents in either direction seeing the highway closed at different times throughout the day.
A vehicle towing a camper trailer that rolled over just east of Danforth Road a little before noon. All the eastbound lanes were closed for at least an hour while crews worked to clean up the scene.
A second collision involving multiple vehicles closed the eastbound lanes again around 1pm.
Finally an OPP investigation of a fatal collision in the westbound lanes at around 6pm, where the highway was closed in that direction for several hours.
With travelers coming through for the long weekend, we could see a few more accidents through the weekend, so remember to slow down and drive carefully.
