There were plenty of people out hiking, biking and barking for Community Care Northumberland this year.
The Hike Bike and Bark fundraiser to help Ed’s House Hospice raised a record $61,629.00.
Lynda Kay Director, Donor Relations & Communications said it’s a big step up from last year.
Hike Bike and Bark ran from August 27th until September 10th, seeing participants choose an activity to complete and raise funds through sponsors.
Kay said there were a variety of different activities.
Selena Forsyth was the top individual fundraiser raising over $9,000 and top individual team was the “Gazelles” lead by Jennifer Darrell raising over $15,000.
Based on the results, Kay said the community really comes out to support events like this.
