Brighton, Coburg, Peterborough and Prince Edward County are among the municipalities eligible to apply for grants from $10,000 up to $50,000 to fund community programming and infrastructure programs on the local level.
The program administered by the Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group aims to reenergizing learning, education, and engagement in targeted communities through Commonwell’s Learning and Engagement Accelerator Fund.
Eligible projects must have a goal related to learning in their community and to building strong communities for the future. Think libraries, schools, and community centres.
Community engagement is a factor in deciding the winning proposals. For communities to earn their share of the fund, residents can nominate an eligible project through the submission portal at Leaf | The Commonwell.
Once projects have been submitted Commonwell will be looking to those communities to rally support for the project by commenting and sharing photos on the project’s page.
Applications close November 10th.
Community support pages for projects close November 17th.
Grant recipients will be announced December 11th.
