The Ladies of Sacred Heart Batawa promote community spirit and assist Sacred Heart Church, the community and the school with the proceeds of their three annual fundraisers.
Member Anne Marie Aquino-Coward told us they needed a third event to assist fundraising efforts.
The Apple Pie Fest becomes a village community gathering where all the Apple Pies that have been preordered are made to support the charitable work of the Ladies of Sacred Heart.
This is involves a lot of Batawa villagers who join in to peel, mix and roll the unbaked apples. The pies are great for your freezer and the holidays. Loaded with 3 brands of local apples these pies are yearly favourites and always sell out quickly.
Aquino-Coward told us the whole community lends a hand.
The pies are 14 dollars and can be frozen or baked right away. Anne Marie said they’ll only make around 100 per day, so get your orders in soon.
According to Anne Marie, the Ladies hold several events that support local initiatives.
Pies can be ordered online now for pickup on October 2nd, 3rd and 4th – but act soon as Monday is already completely sold out.
