Three divisional teams and three individuals competed for East Northumberland Secondary School (ENSS) at the OFSAA cross-country championship in Etobicoke on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 and two teams placed in the top ten.
The ENSS cross-country running teams competed against 2,000 of the top high school runners in Ontario and they achieved a milestone.

Falla says every team did exceptional – and now they’re getting ready for next season.
Falla finished by saying it was a great opportunity.
The ENSS novice boys (Grade 9) were eighth. They were led by COSSA champion Jack Turner (67) who finished the 4 km course in 14:15. Jack’s teammates were Dawson Dunham (76), Sullivan Tait (91), Dominick Heller (132) and Ethan McDougall (195).
The ENSS junior boys (Grade 10 / 11) were tenth. Their first runner, Owen McDougall (44), finished the 5 km course in 16:07. The rest of the team included Chase Eddy (101), Noah Groeneveld (139), Nate Boomhouwer (148) and Liam Read (204).
The ENSS senior boys ran without one of their top runners and still finished 32nd. Their lead runner – Aidan Molenhuis (158) ran the 6 km course in 21:47. His teammates were Dominic Noreau (185), Carter Geens (210), Jacob Wamboldt (250) and Owen Turner (253).
ENSS fielded some individual entries from their girls team, with Kora Ferguson finishing 89th in the junior girls’ race and she covered the 5 km in 19:56 while Cadence Tait was 158th in the senior girls’ race. Addie Davis was 57th in the para race.
