The Community Foundation of Campbellford/Seymour and Northumberland announced $322,000 in funding to support 11 projects in Northumberland County through the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund. Martha Miller – Executive Director of the CFCS – says more.
The Community Services Recovery Fund is a one-time investment of $400 million to help community service organizations (charities, non-profits, Indigenous governing bodies) adapt, modernize and be better equipped to improve the efficacy, accessibility and sustainability of the community services that they provide through the pandemic recovery and beyond. The following projects are being supported in Northumberland County. Martha Miller – Executive Director of the CFCS – says more.
Since the early phases of the COVID-19 pandemic, not for profits struggled with increased demand for their services, reduced revenues, declines in charitable giving due to the rising cost of living, and a greater need to make use of digital tools. The Community Foundation of Campbellford/Seymour and Northumberland (CFCSN) was selected by the Government of Canada to deliver funding to not for profits in Northumberland County. Miller adds.
“Many organizations were struggling to recover and adapt their services to the changing needs of Northumberland County,” said Martha Miller – Executive Director of the CFCSN. “We focused on grants that helped improve systems and processes that would aid their recovery.”
The CFCSN approved grants that invested to fund the following organizations:
– $22,000 to Bike Action Trent Hills
– $43,950 to the Campbellford Memorial Hospital Foundation
– $31,000 to the Campbellford-Seymour Agricultural Society
– $45,800 to Community Care Northumberland
– $21,725 to Inclusion Northumberland (formerly Community Living Campbellford/Brighton).
– $13,760 to IncrEdible Trent Hills
– $22,498 to Innresponse to support the installation of Grant Connect in Trent Hills Libraries
– $10,000 to Promised Land Animal Sanctuary
– $21,367 to the Rotary Club of Campbellford
– $10,000 to the Trent Hills Family Health Team
They also invested $79,900 to fund the Aron Theatre Cooperative Inc. to build the digital capacity of the theatre with the purchase of a new digital/laser projector and screen.
“This will assist the theatre in its mission to be a sustainable social and cultural hub for everyone,” said Russ Christianson, president of the Aron co-operative.
Christianson went on to say – it wasn’t just people who struggled during the COVID-19 pandemic.
