With help from the canine unit, Northumberland OPP say they have recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested three people, including Toronto, Brighton and Colborne residents.
On Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, at about 3:35 p.m., police said officers were on patrol on County Road 2 in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand when they received an automated licence plate recognition (ALPR) notification regarding a stolen vehicle.
Officers followed the passenger vehicle, then located it unoccupied at a property on Hilltop Road, said police.
An individual was allegedly observed fleeing from the scene towards County Road 2, said police.
Northumberland OPP, with help from the canine unit and emergency response team, assisted in tracking the person, reported OPP.
The accused was allegedly observed getting into a nearby pickup truck that was stopped without incident by police, said OPP, adding all occupants were arrested.
As a result of the investigation, police said Jordon Cole, 24, of Toronto, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and failure to comply with a release order – other than to attend court.

None of these charges have been proven in court.
