Quinte West OPP say they are calling on the public for help with an investigation into a vehicle theft after the truck ended up in a ditch on Frankford-Stirling Road.
On Wednesday, Feb. 28, police issued a release calling on the public to help identify a person of interest.
Police said on Feb. 11 they recovered a stolen truck on Frankford-Stirling Road in Quinte West. According to police, their investigation determined that at about 7:30 a.m. a male suspect allegedly had driven the vehicle into a ditch and was unable to remove the vehicle.
Police allege the suspect proceeded to ask for help removing the vehicle from the ditch until obtaining a lift from a black pickup truck around the area of Sagers Corners.
Images of the man were captured, and police are now sharing those images and asking the public to help identify the person of interest.
Police described the man as white, with a medium build, and believe he’s 25 to 35 years old. Police said he was wearing red pants with white stripes down the side and a grey/dark jacket with a white logo on the left arm.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information about this incident or the person(s) responsible to reach out to OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
Should citizens wish to remain anonymous, people can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477 (TIPS), where tipsters may be eligible to receive a cash reward, added police.
