Peace Park in Brighton is getting a new playground – but to accommodate construction work, an area of the park will be closed to the public.
On Tuesday, the Municipality of Brighton advised residents construction is starting at Peace Park, which is located off of Huron Drive.
The smaller treed park is getting an upgrade in playground equipment. An area of the park will have to be closed to accommodate construction of the new playground, said the municipality.
Work is anticipated to be complete in the next few weeks. Until then, the municipality is encouraging residents to explore other municipal playgrounds and parks.
The project contract was awarded to Playground Planners in July 2023 for $34,911 before HST.
