The Municipality of Brighton is now accepting grant-in-aid applications for its community grant program for 2025.
Submissions are being accepted until the end of day on Sept. 30, 2024.
The community grant program is aimed at providing financial help to non-profit, community-based organizations providing direct programs, services and/or activities that enhance quality of life for Brightonians in specific areas. These areas include social services, health, the arts, culture, heritage and recreation, as well as youth, cemetery and environmental initiatives, according to the municipality.
Applications are open now in alignment with the 2025 budget process. Interested community organizations are able to fill out application forms online via the municipality’s website.
Online, it states there are different streams and explains what it is required during applications. The streams include community project grants, described as seed money or in-kind support for specific projects up to $1,000.
Meanwhile, community investment grants are outlined as funding or in-kind support for projects, special events, specific programs or operating budgets, with requests up to $5,000 possible.
Then there are non-profit major grants — funding or in-kind support for specific programs or capital budgets supporting municipal core services and mandates with requests of up to $20,000.
