Police are calling on the public for help with an ongoing probe into thefts from vehicles in Brighton, say Northumberland OPP.
On Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, police issued a plea to the public following multiple reported complaints about a suspicious person attempting to gain access to vehicles between Ontario and Centre streets during the early afternoon on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024.
Officers said they confirmed a theft had occurred upon arrival and a further incident was reported later that day, where items were reported stolen from another vehicle in the same area.
“Among the items stolen was a method of payment used to complete a transaction at a local convenience store on the same day,” said police.
On Wednesday, police said they are looking to identify individuals sought in connection with the investigation and released images to the public. This investigation is ongoing, added OPP.
Police are asking anyone who knows the identity of the individuals in the pictures, or who has information relating to this investigation, to call the Brighton OPP Detachment at 613-475-1313 or the non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122.
