Northumberland OPP is investigating an attempted murder in the Township of Cramahe.
Officers were dispatched to a residence on Mitchell Road on November 13th, shortly after 1:00 p.m. Upon arrival, one individual was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. An arrest was made at the scene, and charges have been laid against one person.
Police are actively searching for a second suspect, 41-year-old Serguei Petrov of Ottawa. He is wanted for aggravated assault and pointing a firearm. Petrov is described as 185 cm (6’1″), 75 kg (165 lbs), with brown hair and hazel eyes. Authorities believe he frequents Northumberland County and Ottawa.
Investigators have determined the incident was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit is leading the investigation under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, with support from the OPP Forensic Identification Services, Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit, and Canine Unit.
