Belleville police say they’ve seized roughly 95 grams of fentanyl, 17 grams of cocaine, and another 98 grams of an “unknown powder” after executing a warrant in the downtown area.
On Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, the Belleville Police Service issued a release saying team Project Renewal executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant in the downtown core, with help from the service’s emergency response and canine units.
Police said 17.3 grams of cocaine, 95.2 grams of fentanyl, 98.2 grams of an unknown powder, $565, digital scales, packaging material and five cellphones were seized as part of the alleged bust.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 25-year-old and a 19-year-old were both charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, and proceeds of crime under $5,000.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
