Ontario has announced its most popular baby names for 2023, with Olivia and Noah continuing their reign as favourites.
Olivia has been the most popular name for girls for an impressive 15 consecutive years, while Noah leads the boys for the fifth year in a row. Runners-up include Charlotte for girls and Liam for boys.
New additions to the top 10 include Mila and Henry, reflecting shifting trends in name preferences across the province. The complete top 10 lists include timeless favourites like Emma, Amelia, Theodore, and Oliver.
Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery Todd McCarthy highlighted the significance of choosing a baby name as one of life’s most cherished milestones. He also reminded parents of ServiceOntario’s 5-in-1 Newborn Bundle, which streamlines the process of registering a newborn and applying for essential documents like birth certificates and Social Insurance Numbers.
“Welcoming a new baby is special, and our Newborn Bundle helps parents focus on these moments instead of paperwork,” said McCarthy.
Parents are encouraged to register their newborn within 30 days of birth using the user-friendly online system.
