Quinte West OPP say they’ve charged three people after an alleged robbery and assault of a taxi driver.
On Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, OPP issued a release about the alleged Jan. 13 incident.
It was determined that three people took a taxi from an address in Belleville to a location on Adrian Court in Trenton, and that the taxi driver was allegedly assaulted, and the taxi fare was stolen, reported police.
OPP, with help from the crime unit, identified three suspects, said police, on Monday.
According to OPP, on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, the Belleville Police Service located and arrested the accused.
Police said all of the accused are from the Quinte area and were charged with one count of robbery with violence. Two of the accused were also charged with failure to comply with a probation order.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
