No injuries are being reported after a crash involving two tractor-trailers overnight on Hwy. 401 in Port Hope, say Northumberland OPP.
Northumberland OPP had to close the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 401 at Ontario Street in the Municipality of Port Hope due to the collision just before 3 a.m. However, all lanes reopened just before 4 a.m.
Police are continuing to urge people to postpone unnecessary travel and stay off the roads if possible.
OPP is also reminding people on the road of the importance of giving snowplows space to work.
“They are working to make the road safer for you,” said East Region OPP.
If you get stuck behind a plow, police say stay put, be patient and get to your destination safely.
Environment Canada’s snowfall warning remains in effect.
In the OPP East Region catchment area, police say they’ve responded to more than a dozen collisions in Eastern Ontario since 7 p.m. Wednesday. No serious injuries have been reported.
