Warm weather wasn’t the reason Cobourg police were diving into the water this weekend.
Officers from Cobourg and Port Hope police services joined Community Living and local Special Olympics athletes for the 2025 Polar Plunge at the Cobourg Marina boat launch. The annual event supports Special Olympics Ontario.
Cobourg Police Chief Paul VandeGraaf, who took the plunge twice, says it was all for a great cause.
In 2023 and 2024, the event raised more than $27,000 through participant fundraising and community donations.
GoNorthumberland.ca will have this year’s results when they are totalled.
