There’s a dose of good news going around for Quinte West and Brighton residents with the announcement of two new family doctors for the area.
The Docs by the Bay physician recruitment and retention group said the additions of Dr. Naeem Ullah Khan and Dr. Anastasia Dobrinski brings the total number of family physicians recruited to 20 since Docs by the Bay’s inception in late 2017 – and that this announcement is another step forward in ensuring area residents have access to high-quality, comprehensive and sustainable primary care.
The group is attributing the latest recruitment efforts to Dr. Stephen Evans with the Trenton-Brighton Medical Clinic.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Dr. Evans for his instrumental role in bringing these physicians to our community,” said Paula Mason, manager of physician recruitment and retention with Docs by the Bay.
In a recent release, it states that Khan started with the medical clinic in February and is a graduate of Nishtar Medical University in Pakistan and completed his family medicine residency in the U.K., where he practised for several years before relocating to this community.
Meanwhile, Dobrinski is described as a graduate of the Omsk State Medical Academy in Russia, bringing a wealth of experience to the team.
“She completed a family medicine residency, as well as a geriatric medicine fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas,” reads the release.
Licensed in Ontario since 2015, Dobrinski most recently worked in the Oshawa area and will start her practice here in early May, says Docs by the Bay.
For Quinte West and Brighton residents without a family doctor, residents are now encouraged to complete registration forms in-person at the Trenton-Brighton Medical Clinic at 260 Dundas St. E., Trenton, or 22 Dundas St., Brighton. However, residents are asked to not call the clinic about registration to ensure lines remain open for urgent medical inquiries.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Khan and Dr. Dobrinski to our community,” said Phil Wild, chair of the Docs by the Bay. “Their expertise and commitment to patient care will be a great asset to Quinte West and Brighton.”
Docs by the Bay is supported by the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation, City of Quinte and Municipality of Brighton.
