The “Fashion for Foundation” fundraiser is making a comeback in support of local healthcare, says the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.
“Now in its sixth year, Fashion for Foundation is back for another unforgettable evening,” said long-time organizer Sharon Urquhart. “This event is in support of specialized equipment for DVSARP (the Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Response Program) and our emergency department at TMH.
“Join us for a fun night out while helping to make a real impact on the future of care in our community.”
The hospital foundation is also lending its support for the community-led initiative, with the fundraiser set to return on May 8, 2025, at the Batawa Community Centre starting at 5:30 p.m.
New this year, the fundraiser will feature both men’s and women’s fashion, along with live entertainment, a guest speaker, and emceeing by Charity Brown from Hits 95.5. DJ Leo Philips will keep the music going all night, reads a recent TMHF release.
Last year, the event also helped with vital equipment purchases for DVSARP. This year, the goal is to upgrade the patient room with a modern privacy curtain and ceiling rail system to enhance care and comfort for patients, added organizers.
Ahead of the event, organizers are also emphasizing why the fundraiser is so important, stressing that one in three women in Canada will face intimate partner violence in their lifetimes and how one in five sexual assault survivors believed they were drugged. What’s more, in 2023, Ontario recorded 62 femicides, explained organizers.
Tickets are $30 and include a registration gift, light refreshments, a four-ounce drink, and door prize entry. Tickets are available at the foundation office located at 242 King St., Trenton or online via the hospital foundation’s website.
